I recently hired Don River Carpentry for some custom carpentry work, specifically to build a unique wall unit in my living room and to renovate my gas fireplace. The wall unit featured an innovative design I had discovered in Arizona, crafted with a wood frame and finished with drywall instead of traditional cabinetry. The fireplace was the original one installed when the house was built 18 years ago, making it due for an update. This was my first experience hiring a contractor for home renovations, as I typically handle renovation projects myself. Naturally, I was cautious, as you often hear horror stories about contractors.
